Psoriasis is a skin condition in which dry and scaly patches appear on the skin. It is commonly believed that psoriasis is a genetic disorder which is caused by disturbance in the normal way of working of immune system and this disturbance causes overgrowth of skin cells so quickly. The normal period of production and replacement of these skin cells is 20-28 days which is changed to 2-6 days in psoriasis patients. Nail Psoriasis is the same condition but it specifically refers to the nails. It is not contagious disease but it is hereditary and involves nails, skin and joints.
